The Extraordinary Benefits of Massage Therapy
Integracare offers massage therapy in home services from our professional RMTs. For those in Palliative Care, massage therapy offers unique advantages for health and emotional well-being.
To understand massage therapy on a basic level, circulation is improved by massage strokes and techniques. Massage Therapy increases blood flow to joints and other parts of the body and creates a relaxing effect.
Improved circulation can heighten the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to muscle cells. As cellular health improves tissue function more efficiently, helping to alleviate pain.
In addition to the scientific aspect of massage therapy, it also provides Clients with the healing power of touch.
Full-blown massage treatments may not be possible at certain stages when a Client may be in a fragile physical state. However, even at these stages, there’s something called attentive touch that eases discomfort wherever it is needed.
Attentive touch may take the form of a gentle foot or hand massage, for example. Whatever the case may be, attentive touch can reduce stress and anxiety, allowing for relaxation.
A strong connection can be made between a Client and an RMT through the tactile effect of massage. Message Therapy lets patients know that they are loved and cared for.
There are powerful healing qualities to massage therapy, especially in times of duress and uncertainty. Our RMTs use gentle and compassionate techniques to demonstrate to Clients that they are not alone in this time of life.
Making the decision to provide a loved one with Palliative Care is not a simple process. It can feel confusing and scary, and we understand the daunting complexities that are involved. At Integracare, nothing matters more to us than the health and well-being of our Clients.
